Mofo RC | Premium Oil-Filled Emulsion Big Bore Shocks (For Axial® SCX24™)

These premium aluminum emulsion-style oil-filled big bore shocks are a great way to add improved dampening to your rig.

Features

  • Emulsion-oil style
  • Aluminum threaded shock body
  • Aluminum caps, spring retainer, and shock end
  • Double o-ring seals
  • Springs
    • Soft (Black)- 0.4mm diameter
    • Hard (Silver)- 0.45mm diameter
  • Multiple length options

Specs

  • Stroke Length:
    • 39mm: ~11mm
    • 42mm: ~12mm
  • Compressed Length
    • 39mm: ~28.5mm
    • 42mm: ~30.5mm

Includes:

  • 4 x Shocks
  • 1 x Soft Spring Set
  • 1 x Hard Spring Set
  • Mounting Hardware
  • Extra 3mm x 2mm x 0.5mm o-ring seals
  • Note: Silicone Oil not included. There is only a light coat from the factory. Recommended weight range: 17.5-40 wt.  Start 20-25wt for most rigs.

Pre-Assembly Note/Tip: The shocks come with a double o-ring seal. We recommend adding a third for additional leak protection (included), but not required. Adding o-ring grease from companies such as CowRC (Udder Butter), JConcepts (RM2 Grease), ProTek, Team Associated (Green Slime) and more, will give you the smoothest performance and longest seal life.

To properly assemble these shocks, use the following steps:

  1. Grab a spare rag for oil cleanup
  2. Remove bottom spring retainer, shock cap, and spring. Do no use pliers on shock shaft without protection. You can create grooves which hurts performance and wears the o-ring seals out.
  3. Pull the shock shaft to the bottom.
  4. Fill shock 1/2-3/4 of the shock body.
  5. Move shock shaft up and down slowly and pull to bottom to let air bubbles come to surface.
  6. Top up the shocks with oil. There should be a slight dome on top.
  7. Put the shock cap on halfway.
  8. Holding at a slight angle with your rag around the top, push the shock shaft up almost to the top and tighten the cap.
  9. Excess oil should come out. You want as little air as possible. Wipe clean.
  10. Add blue threadlocker to shock shaft threads before installing spring and retainer. This will keep the retainer from unscrewing.
  11. Mount and enjoy!
